TVNZ and Spark Sport providing more extensive coverage of Wimbledon

TVNZ is once again bringing New Zealanders live coverage of the world’s most prestigious Grand Slam, Wimbledon. This year, viewers will get access to more tennis than ever before with Spark Sport streaming extended coverage and complementing the free-to-air broadcast.

Due to begin on Monday 1 July at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, TVNZ DUKE will cross LIVE to courtside Wimbledon from 10pm, with replays from 9am and highlights at 4.30pm the following day.

Spark Sport will also cross LIVE to the action – providing tennis fans with dedicated access to seven channels of coverage from the tournament. These will include coverage from the World Feed, which edits a mix of action from across the tournament, plus live streams from six courts. Selected highlights and vignettes will also be available to watch on demand.

The variety of viewing options for the 2019 tournament mean New Zealand fans will be able to watch more live Wimbledon coverage than ever before across a wide range of devices.

TVNZ Director of Content Cate Slater says “We’re big Wimbledon fans and we want viewers to be able to get behind their favourite players, however they choose to watch the tournament. We’ll be going big with our free-to-air offering, and we’re excited that Spark Sport will be leveraging their streaming to complement this.”

Head of Spark Sport Jeff Latch says “The flexibility of our streaming service means we will be able to provide New Zealanders with unparalleled access to the tournament. For the dedicated tennis fan, Spark Sport will provide the opportunity to engage with the breadth of tennis that is available across the tournament.”

Don’t miss a moment of the action on TVNZ DUKE and Spark Sport.
