Heather Polglase

Heather joined Spark in 2013, bringing with her more than 20 years’ trans-Tasman experience as an HR professional, with a proven track record for business transformation, talent management, leadership development, and succession planning across a range of industries including FMCG, retail, hospitality,
technology, and telecommunications. She was appointed People and Culture Director at Spark in September 2019, and has been instrumental in setting the vision, leadership and delivery of key strategic initiatives including Spark’s award-winning diversity and inclusion programme, which was recognised by the Deloitte Top 200, and its wellbeing programme, Mahi Tahi, recently recognised by the Southern Cross Wayfinder Awards as a leading example of wellbeing innovation, authentically integrated into a large workplace. Heather continues to be a key architect of Spark’s leadership and development programmes that focus on fostering and building world class leadership skills,

behaviours, and awareness, for innovative, high-performing, and inclusive leaders, teams, and culture.

Prior to joining Spark, Heather was a senior HR leader with Progressive Enterprises, and led HR, Strategy & Change Management at Dan Murphy’s in Australia. She has a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree (Hospitality Management) from Auckland University of Technology.
